Reef Retreat NQ is a pristine beachfront facility designed and purpose-built for individuals of all abilities. It is the perfect location for NDIS Participants looking to enjoy respite (STR) in a tropical beachside location, supported independent living (SIL or CORE) or build capacity at our Beachside Day Program.

Relax in our community beachside surroundings, take in the sunset during afternoon beach walks, enjoy in-house activities, connect with others, learn new things or explore what our tropical North Queensland region has to offer.

Join us for weekend respite or a longer stay to “rest, relax and recharge” to get away from the norm. We will tailor your stay to be as unique as you and help you rediscover the joy of living life to the fullest, and practice skills or experience new things and meet new people.

From fully supported pre-planned curated itinerary stays for individuals, through to supported Short Term Respite care or Core capacity building – you will have everything you need to make sure your stay, or visit is as individual as you are!

Our Facilities

Our brand-new purpose-built facility offers two fully self-contained units, both uniquely themed by Rainforest or Reef décor, each with an adjoining carers room for guests requiring around-the-clock overnight assistance.

There is easy access to modern accessible amenities, such as laundry and kitchen, and communal areas with a range of activities in our vibrant games area and music room.

A fully accessible walk or wheel-in swimming pool and BBQ areas – all boasting panoramic views over the beach and ocean. There is also an outdoor game deck, a viewing deck, the ‘swing’ deck, and lounging decks.

Guests staying overnight & Day Program visitors have access to transport to and from home, the SeaLink Ferry terminal or airport.

As a proud registered NDIS Provider, you can be assured of the highest quality services delivered by our dedicated team of experienced professionals, ensuring your stay is curated to meet your needs and preferences.

For carers, we offer the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved one is given the highest level of care. Our Managing Director and Service Coordinator are both Registered Nurses ensuring commitment to health & wellbeing, inclusivity and accessibility for our guests and visitors.
We aim to ensure that your visit to Reef Retreat NQ, whether that be for NDIS funded Short Term Respite stay, your own supported stay, or as a Day Program visitor, your experience is as unique and memorable as you are.

Key Features

With over six kilometres of beach to discover, take a long refreshing walk, drop a line in to fish, and claim a piece of paradise for yourself.

Guests and visitors have access to our large communal areas that overlook straight out to the beach and ocean. There is a large games and music room which leads out to our fully accessible walk-in/wheel-in swimming pool and BBQ area.

The entire property from street to beachside is accessible. Polished concrete flooring, with no steps from the front door through to the decking of the swimming pool entrance!

A Day Program for local NDIS participants specifically designed for a change-of-scenery to get away from the norm, embark in outdoor beach inspired activities and enjoy a variety of activities on offer like nowhere else in the Townsville region!
