				About Us
Our Managing Director, as owner operator, has been proudly providing quality supported accommodation services since 2017 and NDIS services since 2019. Since this time, the need was identified for quality Short Term Accommodation respite services within the Townsville region.
Our vision is to break the mold on stereotypical NDIS service provision for Short Term Accommodation respite care and shift people’s perspective on what it means to receive unique respite care and support.
The dream of Reef Retreat NQ Managing Director was born from years (since 2011) of working closely with people with disabilities, their family members and networks, and seeing firsthand the limited choice people with disabilities had available to them.
Moved to make real change, Reef Retreat NQ is the realisation that we have the power to actively make improvements in the lives of people with disabilities, and change is possible!
Reef Retreat NQ is a facility like no other, coupled with a bespoke provider of NDIS services whose mission is to create a memorable experience for people to enjoy life, build capacity, achieve their goals and live to the fullest.

Rebekah
Service Coordinator
Registered Nurse
Rebekah is the backbone of operations and is dedicated to ensuring every visitor to our Beachside Day Program and guest staying in the Reef or Rainforest Room accommodations receives personalised touches and support curated down to the smallest detail.
A lover of travel and adventures, Rebekah is a veteran visitor to the Saunders Beach location, with many stories to tell.
Kyle
Grounds Keeper
Reef Retreat NQ’s very own micro-rainforest takes some work to develop, grow and maintain, and the bush turkeys can’t be left to do all the scratching around. Plans for a boardwalk are under way beneath the canopy of the strangler fig.
Kyle prides himself on maintaining the grounds to ensure accessibility for every visitor from the Pool & BBQ decks on the beach side, through to the porte-cochere on the rainforest side of the property.
Vision and Values
The Reef Retreat NQ mission is to provide unique beachside and accommodation experiences for individuals with disability, set in a beautiful and relaxing tropical North Queensland location.
Experiences that uplift and regenerate a person’s mind and body by positively impacting mental health, where they can create a sense of mindfulness, existing in the moment to let go and welcome relaxation throughout the body’s senses.
Bask in the sunshine, breathe in the fresh salt air, listen to the waves, smell the salt water, feel the sand beneath your feet, connect with nature and calm emotions that will leave you feeling happy.
Our vision is to break the mold on stereotypical NDIS service provision for Short Term Accommodation respite care and shift people’s perspective on what it means to receive respite care and capacity building support.
We want to provide a unique Day Program like no other, that revitalises people, so they return home and have the best night’s sleep after a day of beachside activity connecting to nature, culture, people and community.
Assisting people to build capacity by forming social connections, having opportunity to practice making and keeping friends and relationships.
We value individuality, and are committed to inclusivity for all, including those with challenging, intense or high complex care requirements. We are registered and very experienced in supporting people with High Intensity Complex Care, Intense and Complex Behaviour Support and Implementing Behaviour Support Plans where restrictive practices may be authorised for use.
